Q. ARE YOU A 501(C)3 NON-PROFIT? IS MY DONATION TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?
A. We are not a 501(c)3 organization. Donations are not tax-deductible. We are a non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Minnesota, and currently applying for tax-exempt federal status under section 501(c)4. Our partner, the Water Protector Legal Collective is an incorporated non-profit in the State of North Dakota and currently applying for 501(c)3 status.
Q. WE ARE A FOUNDATION AND WE NEED TO DONATE TO A 501(c)3. DO YOU HAVE A FISCAL SPONSOR?
A. No, we do not have a fiscal sponsor. We established the collective in order to protect the existing non-profits involved in this movement from the risks associated with managing legal defense funds in a situation like this. If you must donate to a 501c3, we suggest donating to our partner, the Water Protector Legal Collective, or to one of the grassroots Indigenous organizations working on the ground at Standing Rock or in other struggles to protect Mother Earth. Feel free to contact us for suggestions.

Q. DO YOU FILE CIVIL LAWSUITS AGAINST LAW ENFORCEMENT AND INDUSTRY?
